Soup

A few months ago I tried a new receipe for a vegetarian bean soup using cans of soup. It was OK but lacked any good flavor. This morning as I was waking up I was thinking of that soup---I had thawed out a ham bone and figured that I would add it to the soup to make it more tasty. I had always thought I would have liked to have been a pioneer woman (until I started reading how difficult it was for them!) and thought I would use a cast iron pot we have and make the soup on top of the woodstove.

I have got to tell you, it was smelling good! The wood is free as opposed to the propane that keeps our regular stove going---and the addition of that ham made the soup delicious! OK, it wasn't vegetarian anymore but some sacrifices must be made sometimes!

We are getting a little snow today but nothing compared to that 3+ feet a few days ago.........
