Marmalade!

Well, since it snowed all day yesterday and into the night, I decided that I would make some marmalade. Sasha's mother-in-law sends us a box of citrus from Florida each year at Christmas time and I use one orange and one grapefruit plus a lemon from the store to make Citrus Marmalade. It is quite a lengthy process but worth the time. This is the pot of peels and pulp that had to sit overnight....looks yummy! When it is cooking it smells great!

And here is the finished product! It doesn't make much but what it makes is absolutely delicious. Bruce loves orange marmalade so after we get to the store again, I will make some just plain orange!

I will post some more pictures of the snow.....I know that it makes you want to hop in the car and come help us move it!!!! I will wait though until the road is plowed so I can take some different pictures other than just around our house! :)+

That sure looks GOOD!! But as I recall it has SUGAR. I'm not allowed ANY sugar.

I gained a pound just looking at the pictures...

If you wait, I
ll come help move that snow. Course if you wait that long, it will be melted!!!LOL
Stay warm!!

Bruce and Carol,
9700 ft!!! Wow! You two are mighty tough cookies. I'm surprised you have electricity up there and would love to hear more about the mechanics of how you live, i.e., telephone, TV, internet, water, food storage, and so on. Sounds like you are really pioneers.
Will be watching for your next post.

Enjoyed reading what you have written so far! Like Mike, I'm not supposed to eat sugar either but I wonder if your marmalade could be made with Splenda?

Stay warm!
