Average - by Bruce

Tall and short and somewhere in between is average.

Big and small and somewhere in between is average.

Over weight and thin and somewhere in between is average.

Snow - some years we get 300" or 25' total. Some years we get 146" or 12'. Average is 264" or 22'. Doesn't look like we will get close to our average this year.
That will mean a dry year and increased wildfire hazard this year. Yesterday and today we were in a red zone for wildfire danger and we are still in the winter season.
Makes me glad that we have a metal roof, stone exterior, and cut trees well back from the house. Wildfire needs a fuel source and we have eliminated most of ours.
Unless we have some really big storms it appears we will fall far short of 'average' this year. That will mean for us that we can't both be gone from home at the same time unless we take the dogs with us. Some inconvenience but another phase of life in the mountains.
