Growing a Garden at High Elevation

You wouldn't think that today would be a good day to plant my garden with two inches of snow on everything. Actually I didn't plant anything today but the bottom photo was taken yesterday when I did prepare the soil and plant my garden.

Getting a garden planted in the mountains can be a challenge. The bottom photo is me putting on sun shade screen on the boxes to protect the seeds from getting burned by the thin air/hot sun. Today it serves to protect from the snow. The cold will help set the seeds and if it does not last too long then we should have a really good garden this year.
