Back Yard Activity

Some of the back yard activity over the past two days. This does not include the flock of turkeys that walked down the mountain just out of range of the camera. Life is truly exciting living in the mountains with all the abundant wildlife around. This is only a very small area of our back yard, and I'm thinking I'll have to try other areas as well.
Click on the photo and it will enlarge.

I had put a salt lick on this stump several years ago and it must have melted into the stump. The deer and elk seem to really like to lick that stump now.

Bruce~ I love your stealth camera pictures. Keep them coming. I intend to get several of the stealth cameras next year. I have put this off too long.

Hooray: You get some terrific photo's with your camera, there will be even more when you get a stealth cam set up. Between yours and ours we should have a vast array of really great photos to share. The last ones you shared got lots of good comments. Looking forward to next year already.

Bruce, nice pictures,,, I am thinking about getting myself a camera like that. With your experience I would like your advice and suggestions. Yours does a great job.....I don't need anything elaborate, I just want to see what critters we re missing during the night... Mtn Lions are getting very plentiful in the area.......lady not to far away lost her little pup the other day, right in the middle of the day. She confronted the two lions and got the one to drop her pup out of its mouth. But it was too late, poor pup had such serious injuries it had to be put down..... Interesting stuff happens during the night, it might frighten me to even know about it...
Keep up the good work on your lives up on that mtn.

Here is the link provided by Mike. S. Dakota lions are not much different than Colorado lions. http://rapidcityjournal.com/news/woman-stood-face-to-face-with-mountain-lion/article_20f719ce-e0ec-11e0-9b8d-001cc4c002e0.html?oCampaign=email
