Another Pearl Of Wisdom From Sakoieta

One thing I learned early in life is if you try to please everyone all the time, you’ll never please half the people half the time or be pleased with yourself. Some are never pleased no matter what you do. It wasn’t really meant for us to try to do that. What we are supposed to do is to constantly try to live and work in harmony with each other. This often means listening to other opinions and even reconsidering our own. Our Elders often waited to see how long someone’s opinion remained true before forming one of their own and putting it forth. Waiting to form an opinion can at times be a very wise thing to do. It’s too easy for people to be negative. To say negative things about others, to accept the negative opinions of others. We need to weigh and sift opinions as to their importance and their truth. It seems at times the only thing we cannot forgive in each other is a difference of opinion. Maybe to work in harmony with each other we need to listen more carefully, consider more wisely, forgive more easily and censure less frequently.

My friend Sakoieta is so humble he does not take credit for his gems of wisdom. I have no problem giving him the praise he deserves for his wisdom and common sense comments however. He is a truly a very brilliant man and I'm happy to call him friend. In fact everyone should have a friend just like him.

great advice. i would add to that that we need to not only listen but hear what others are saying. many times people appear to be listening but in fact are already getting ready to dispute what the others are saying.

I'd have to go along with with you one this subject. Which is not something I usually do! I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to speak my mind!
