Finding A Homestead - Considerations

Check out my new blog on finding a homestead. This is turning out to be more fun than I expected.  As we search different areas of the country we are learning all kinds of things about those communities. Some have a high crime rate, others have environmental problems, and then there are some that are very attractive and affordable.  Check the blog out at:  http://www.motherearthnews.com/the-happy-homesteader/finding-a-homestead-considerations.aspx

One thing to consider is how long it will take to sell your property, especially if you are relying on the proceeds from the sale to move to your new area. Some cabins have been for sale for years.

That is true but I just read a comment where some have sold quickly. Good thing we are in no hurry which is why it is best to start early in case it does take years. Good helpful comment Semour.
