Add Feathers To Your Arrow With Caution - By Sakoieta'

Heard some excellent words today. My partner was video taping a copy of Crooked Arrows when I walked into the room. The old man on there was telling the "Joe Logan" character to be careful so that he doesn’t provide a feather in the arrow someone may use to shoot at him. I thought about this for quite awhile and realized how often some of us may do this because we feel we can trust everyone that we meet and often then reveal too much of our lives, who we are, what we do, what we believe, etc before we really realize whether these people we are speaking to can really be trusted. Some people we can, but then there are always others who take what we have shared with them, twist it and do use it to shoot at us to try to do us in. We all need to be careful that we are not providing the feather for an arrow of that kind.

My friend Sakoieta has hit the bulls eye again. I have pretty much learned over the years but it is our nature to trust others when we should be proceeding into friendships with caution. We share our life and experiences with others only to have it come back and jab us in our heart.
I have four friends that I trust totally. My wife/partner, my childhood friend Dick, my long time friend Dave/Pat (they come as one) and my friend Sakoieta.
I am told if we have one true friend in a lifetime we are fortunate. I feel blessed to have four. There are others that are good friends but not true friends whom you can share your inner most thoughs and heart with.
Those should be chosen with caution and tried and true experience. Four true friends, half a dozen very good friends and I feel my cup runneth over.
well said Sakoieta, thanks for sharing.

Sakoieta really hit the nail on the head with this bit of wisdom. You have to be very careful who you tell what about your personal life. You can believe you really have a friend in someone and tell them a lot about yourself and then they sometimes will turn on you and use this information against you.

I thought I knew a group of people once. We went to church together, went over to each other's homes to eat, play games, shared Bible study, etc. Then, when they found out they couldn't control you or you disagreed with them, they turned on you. Now they won't speak to me and use every opportunity to slander me.

So be very careful who you trust. They can be just as devious as Satan.
