Tree - Lumber - Table

Just sent in a blog for Mother Earth News about going from tree to lumber to table all right here from our property.  It should go live on their web page under Homestead and Livestock either Monday or Tuesday.  It is especially rewarding to cut down a dead standing tree, then mill the logs out into lumber and then build a new table from the lumber.  The above photo shows the table. It has two shelves, two drawers, and is made exclusively from a tree on our property except for the two strips of walnut in the top. It was a joy to make since I didn't have plans to follow and did the design myself. The mortise and tendon joints are secured by some cut nails that are functional and decorative.
