Are you ready? You are never fully ready for continuous snow but you don't worry or fret about it, you deal with it. Thursday we received 12" of fresh snow, Saturday we received 17" of new snow and today so far we have received 2" of new snow. Our weather forecast tells us that it is suppose to snow heavier as the day wears on and through tomorrow night. So far that is 31" of new snow and most likely today and tomorrow will provide an equal amount. Therefore I will post this now because for the next week I will be pretty busy with a snow shovel. It is over belly deep for the dogs in the back yard and the dogs clearly don't like that aspect. The top photo depicts how it comes off the roof of our home and piles up. All that has to be shoveled as the snow thrower can not reach those area's. The deck, wood shed, walkway, garage, vehicles, and snow thrower all have to be shoveled out. Therefore I will publish this blog now as I know what I'll be doing for the next several days.
Our annual average snow fall is around 264" and according to my rough calculations so far this winter we have received 103" and still have the next couple days to get through before we have a break in the weather. The road crew does not work on weekends so our road will not be plowed until possibly late tomorrow. More than likely late Tuesday because they also don't plow during a storm.
So if you want to join us as neighbors, this is what you can expect. Last year we only received 180" of snow all winter. Looks like we are making up for that deficit this year. Let the fun begin!!
