Bread And Vinyl Flooring

Check out the new blog topic for Mother Earth News at: http://www.motherearthnews.com/the-happy-homesteader/modern-homesteading-in-the-mountains-on-a-blustery-day.aspx You will find Carol's modified recipe there for the loaf of bread above. Take a nice warm loaf of bread fresh out of the oven, cut a slice, put a little butter on it and it just doesn't get any better than that. Yummmm....

Or having a job you expected problems with just go as smooth as a baby's behind and that is pretty good in and of itself. That vinyl floor looks good and went without a hitch. That cabinet in front of me was from a tree off our property. I cut the tree, milled the lumber and then made this cabinet with it. The punched tin panels took some time to do but the overall effect is really nice. It doesn't take up much room and is a good place to store all the bathroom needs.

So go over to Mother Earth News to see the new blog about bread and the new flooring. The old flooring just wore out and vinyl is a low cost, easy to install floor that should last for many years. I even had a few tiles left to do around the hearth where the wood stove sits. This stuff is attractive and easy to work with.

That is a beautiful loaf of bread. Carol must be very talented because I didn't think you could make bread like that at high altitudes. Someday I hope to find out for myself!
