I chose to review this book because of the
title. Having lived in Central New York and visited Niagara Falls, I thought it
would be fun to revisit my “roots”. The descriptions of the falls and the river
were right on.
This has to be one of the most unusual books I
have ever read. Five boys who live in the area and frequent a certain store see mounted on the wall photos from the past of people visiting Niagara Falls and are inspired to become
one of those photos! They set out on an adventure to cross the “ice bridge”
which is forbidden territory.
Woven into the description of the boy’s
adventure are stories from history….the Hermit, the underground railroad,
skirmishes between soldiers and American Indians….giving insight to a few of the
boys' ancestry and connection with the area.
I found the book both thought provoking and
unique…and I think it would make a great movie!
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free
from the publisher through BookSneeze.com. I was not required to write a
positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Carol,
Sounds like a really interesting book to read. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
Mary, it is a fun thing to do. The only requirement is that you post a review in two places...so I post them here on this blog and then again on amazon. If you love to read (for FREE) and want to apply to booksneeze, you could always post your reviews on this blog. You would just send them to one of our email addresses and we could do the posting for you!
Carol,
Thank you for the information on booksneeze and also for the offer to post reviews on your blog. I very much appreciate that. If I would apply to them to do book reviews and am accepted, I will let you know.
Thanks again.
I review Booksneeze books as well but I'm not really into "Christian books" (which Booksneeze books usually are). I noticed some other reviewers of this book complained that there's too much swearing in it for a "Christian book" so I'll take that as a sign I might like it just fine. Thanks for the review!
I saw that comment too and wasn't sure why he thought it was a "Christian" book as it was just classified as "fiction". Someone else wrote on a review that he is a Christian writer. Whatever and whoever, it was an interesting book!
I think what you composed was actually very logical.
However, consider this, suppose you were to write a awesome headline?
I am not suggesting your content is not solid, but what if
you added a post title that grabbed a person's attention? I mean Untitled is kinda boring. You should look at Yahoo's home
page and watch how they write article titles to get viewers to click.
You might add a related video or a picture or two to get readers interested about everything've written. In my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.
