Cowboy Breakfast

Finally enough snow has melted that we can have an enjoyable outdoor breakfast. When the builder was building the house it was cool so he put a home made steel stove in the house to keep warm. It doesn't hold heat and is leaky but makes an excellent outdoor cook stove for breakfast. Once it heats up it cooks food just right.
Today was potatoes spiced up with our special spice from NY called Cajun Foreplay. Add a nice kick to the potatoes and with fried spam it makes a robust meal that sticks to your ribs. Add some eggs over easy and orange juice and you have a meal fit for a king.  That would be a king that doesn't mind common fair and eating food off a cook stove.
Here is the chef who has never attended a cooking school but then again it is pretty hard to mess up potatoes and eggs with spam. All excellent tasting and sure does fill you up. Takes about two hours to cook it on this outdoor stove but the slow cooking adds to the flavor...

it is a great meal and one we both look forward to. the stove sat out in the "yard" for the longest time until our friend Dave and a couple of buddies came to CO to hunt in the national forest. Dave thought it would be good to load it up and take it to their campsite. They could get the fire going and put a pot of chili on to cook until they came back from their hunt. long story short, sounded like a good idea and we have used it for breakfast ever since they brought it back to our cabin. Bruce built a sturdy picnic table so we often times eat outside to complete the cowboy breakfast!
