Recently in the above Mother Earth News article I mentioned that through out the summer we add to our future fire burning season to get a head start.
With the wind we have been having lately several trees have blown over and we have gotten about 1 1/2 cords of firewood from those trees. Since we have all the firewood we need for next season this is a good start for the following season.
This usually happens every year where dead and sometimes live aspen trees fall down and we ;use them to get a head start on future wood burning seasons. With the wind gusting 30-40 MPH today (third day) we may have even more trees to fall. Will have to go check the property to see later today.
