A Bat

Several years ago we had some bats so I made them a bat house that we put up under our front over hang. We had about a half dozen or more bats that migrated here every year and over the years they have slowly diminished.

I was concerned that they were all gone because I had not seen any this year. A couple nights ago I was out in the back yard at dusk with the dogs and a single bat was flitting around eating insects. In the past the bats have eliminated our population of mosquitoes. This year it is feast time for the bat that survived all these years. We are happy to see even one bat return albeit late in the summer.
