Questionable Track In The Snow
Anyone have any idea what would leave this type of track in the snow? We have no idea but it appeared within the past 2 hours and goes right under the deck of our garage loft.
We believe that we identified what made this track. It was an otter that was probably moving from one stream to another. We have had an incredibly dry winter and streams have less water. We figure that the otter was traveling and came by our house en route to looking for another stream.
When I first saw the track I thought of an Otter as well but I didn't want too sound crazy. That's really something that there could be Otters up there. Beavers hibernate I'm sure, but that's the only other animal with a big tail I can think of.
We don't know for sure what the track is but our best guess right now is otter. I looked up porcupine tracks in the snow and they were somewhat different. If I had gone outside a couple hours earlier I may have seen what made the track and hence known for sure.
