Life In The Mountains

The photo above is this morning. We woke up to 24" of snow and the temperature is presently -7. Compare this to the photo from yesterday and this is how fast things can change in the mountains. We are just shoveling a path for the dogs to go potty because today is when the forecast says heavy snow at times. We are no longer praying for moisture. until we can get out and get around the house. This reminds me of the time we got 6 feet of snow in two days.

Is there still snow up there? We have a property up there and my wife looks at your blog everyday. Thanks for sharing!

Yes there is still snow - we got 29" at our homestead. This snow will probably stay on the ground until spring time. Some has melted and if we can go long enough it may all melt - we will have to see. Between this last storm and the one on 8 Sept. we have received a total of 45" year to date at our house. We have been clearing it every day a little at a time.
