I observed one of these birds last summer as I was walking around our property checking trees. I would not have even seen it had it not been at eye level and my being right next to it. They blend in so well they are very hard to spot. They are considered rare because they are allusive and very hard to spot since they blend in so well with the tree. The one I observed would have gone unnoticed had I not seen it move.
