Mountain Wind:

Not much bothers Klaus as can be seen in the photo. The wind has been miserable for the past few weeks. Not sure how high the gusts have been but the wind blew 45 mph for what seemed a very long time. It has been day after day with strong winds. Many residents have roof damage and it is impossible to count all the trees that have blown over or broken off. It is unlikely that I will ever get to all of them.

While Klaus is not bothered by the wind Lucy is curled up in the corner and very nervous. The wind has caused the power to go off and on so many times that it has our electric thermal heater in the living room so confused it doesn't know whether to charge up or just blow cold air. Our smart TV isn't so smart as we thought as when we change channels we lose the sound and have to turn it off and on to get the sound back.

We are concerned over the snow which we will need come summer to keep our streams and lake charged. Below is the snow pack for the past three years as measured to date. :

2018 -191"

2019 -193"

2020 - 127"

This year to date 15"

Annual average is 264"

This is alarming as we could end up with another major wildfire risk. Also the water in the mountains flows down and charges the water resources in the valley. Life in the mountains can be a real challenge year to year. Nature can be brutal in so many different ways.
