It is doubtful that this 10" of snow will stay on the ground but it is what the mountains need. A snow that will slowly melt into the ground over the next 2-3 days. Snow can sometimes be an aggravation but we sure need the moisture. Rain often runs off in sheets and doesn't saturate the ground but snow this time of year does slowly melt and soaks the ground.
We had 2" of snow a few days ago but that hardly counts as a first snow as it was gone the next day. This one counts and only another 255" to go and it will be spring again with all the wild flowers and everything green.
