Speaking of our lives here on the side of the mountain; yesterday we had a severe wind storm. I believe winds gusted to hurricane velocity. We were without power for several hours and we lost quite a few trees at the end of our lot. Sadly it was mostly large aspen trees that were alive and not the dead ones that we use for our firewood. Since live aspen are heavy with water it will take several years for them to dry out for good firewood. In the meantime we will use the standing dead ones and cut the live trees to length. More work!!!!!
