New Roof:
Every time the wind blows - which is often - we lose more shingles on the garage roof. We used to be in a protected area before the wild fire but the trees that offered a wind buffer burned and the owner of the lot across from us cleared his lot. I got tired of constantly replacing shingles so we hired a friend whom I have known 30+ years to install a metal roof on our garage. We are very pleased with how it looks and it is affixed so no more wind problems. With bad knees it just became to hard to climb that ladder to replace shingles. The ladder was still in place where I replaced some and before I could finish more had blown off. It was time to re-roof the garage with a more lasting solution.

Do you hear the rain on your new metal roof? Did you add any insulation under the new roof or was it already sufficiently insulated? - SG
Yes we can hear the rain on the roof even with 4' of insulation. Relaxing,,,,
This new metal roof is on the garage....and is identical to the roof on the cabin.
