The Swing

 

Shortly after we moved to Colorado in 1997 Bruce made this swing. We hung in between 2 trees on our "other lot". We had 11 acres and the place we put the swing was away from the house. We spent many hours on that swing. Then the wildfire came and although the swing itself was spared, the two trees it was attached to were destroyed! We eventually put the swing closer to the house after a paint job and enjoyed it for a few more years before moving to North Carolina.

This memory popped in my head this morning when I walked Lucy down the road and saw that our neighbors had a new swing in their yard. I hope that they enjoy their view as much as we enjoyed ours.
