When Carol ordered the Forsythia bushes the weather was in the 89's during the day and 50's at night. The local store was out of them, so they had to be mailed to us. When they arrived, we dug the holes and soaked them over night as directed. Now they are under the buckets as it has been going down into the mid to low 20's at night and the 39's during the day. We did not want the fickle weather to kill them before they had a chance to live.
It is not only this weather in the Carolina's that has turned bad, but I ordered my seeds from Wisconsin, and they have been having record wind and snow, so they have not shipped yet. It may be a while before I see them and I have everything ready to go here.
The trees were starting to flower, and the grass was green and then this sudden cold weather. It sure can mess up plans for gardening.
