Mule Deer Coping With Winter

Here are some additional photos from out back that depict the mule deer coping with snow and stormy conditions. We are seeing fewer and fewer mule deer now and that is an indication that they have headed down the mountain for greener pasture. Gets pretty harsh and food becomes pretty scarce at 9,750' this time of the year. It may be officially Fall but Winter is here for sure and it looks like it will be hanging around for the next 5 or 6 months.
If you click on the individual photo it will enlarge for better viewing.

Hi Bruce,

We enjoy all your pictures and comments. Those deer would be smart to go down to where it is warmer and the food is more plentiful. For Sue and I, we are back in TX where it is in the 70's, the grass is just starting to turn brown, still mowing, and I can still play my golf and tennis in shorts and a tee shirt. When the snow starts flying in CO, Sue and I make fast tracks back to warmer temperatures in the great state of TX.

Mike: We get night shots too but they deer and other critters eyes are a glow spot and they don't come out good enough to post on the blog. I just loved the one of the little deer looking directly into the camera and had to share it with others that would hopefully enjoy it too...

Skip: Thanks for rubbing it in. We can play golf here too but not with a white ball. We play with snow shoes and very long handled clubs and black golf balls with a GPS chip in them. Enjoy your warm weather, it sounds ideal. Hurry back with your trail camera because where you live I know you will have lots of good photo's to share. Bruce
