Tarantula Hawk

The tarantula hawk is a large wasp nearly two inches long and can deliver one of the most painful stings of any wasp. It preys on the tarantula spider. It will sting the spider between the legs and the sting paralyzes the spider where it is then dragged to a  brood nest and a single egg is laid on the spider. The larva is then born and bores into the spider feeding on the inside of the spider avoiding the major organs to keep the spider alive as long as possible. Then an adult wasp is born and the cycle starts all over again.
