Cutting Down a Tree Is Only The Start:

We recently cut down 5 dead trees that could and did pose a threat to our home and shed. Some were 22" in diameter and getting them safely on the ground was only a start. Carol gathered up three large piles of limbs that I took off with an ax. I cut the trees to 8' lengths and they had to be moved to a location where I could access them nest spring. Because of where they lay the logs had to be moved by hand. Some of them weighed in the vicinity of  500-700 lbs. and I could  only move the end a few inches at a time.

After much grunting and straining the logs are finally where they can be accessed next spring. It is my intention to mill them out as new gate posts which need replacing. So it proves that us seniors can do the strenuous work but our bodies sure suffer from it.
