Correction Of Prior Post:

Last year I posted that I was using round foam filler to put between the boards on our deck to keep snow from falling through the cracks below. The reason I did this is because I park the tractor under the deck and was tired of shoveling it out to use it. The foam worked pretty well for a while but then the strong winds we had last year blew it out and the  problem was not solved.

I put 4 X 8 sheets of plywood down this year on the lower deck and stained them the color of the overall deck. I replaced the foam cord with a size larger this time and hope it will do the trick. It was difficult to force into the cracks but it should be much harder to blow out.

We get on average 264" of snow per winter so it can drift down and pile up to where  it is hard to remove. Last year we also had winds over 70 mph. that destroyed over 100 trees and the foam on the deck. Sometimes it is trial and error and hopefully this will solve the problem.  We have never had wind that strong or that lasted as long as last year. I'm hoping it is not a new cycle as that wind really tore up our trees.
