I should know better than say I'm ready for the snow. After I posted that statement I noticed the hydraulic cylinder on the sub frame that allows the snow thrower to be raised and lowered was leaking hydraulic fluid. So I took the cylinder off and drove to the Kubota dealer (2 hr. drive one way) to have it fixed. I had notified them earlier to order a repair kit.
The kit came in yesterday so today I made the 4 hour trip to have it repaired. It took about 30 minutes to fix it while I waited. It is now back on the subframe and not leaking. Snow is expected in two days and according to the local newspaper it could be up to 20" of new snow. Hopefully it is now repaired and I am ready for the snow season.Living in the mountains you may think you are ready but in truth it seems something will go wrong. In this case it was a hydraulic leak. Who knows what is next - not me.
