Wind In The Mountains:

It appears the weather patterns have changed. We have had strong wind for several days with gusts up to 30+ mph. It has been this way for a year and the only time the wind has subsided was during the summer months. In the past year the wind has been really strong with blasts to 70-80 mph. As a result we have numerous trees that have been uprooted and  blown over.

In the past 25 years we have lived here I don't know if this current windy weather is a returning cycle but in that period of time we never experienced wind like this. I suppose it could be a new cycle in our weather but it sure gets old after a time. It is especially bothersome when there is fresh snow as it drifts and stings your face.

It is also hazardous as it blows trees down that block our roads. We have had several branches blown off trees and into the house. We have not had to deal with strong wind before and it is something new. The heavy equipment operators instead of working on keeping the roads in good shape are busy pushing trees off the roads.

Our 11 acres used to be clear of down trees and now the property is littered. We removed many trees this summer and fall but they just keep falling and we can't catch up. We can deal with the snow but trees and high winds are another thing altogether.
