Greed:

Each morning I toss out a couple handfuls of unsalted peanuts in the shell onto the deck. The stellar jays flock in to grab one. They love them and I do this every winter. We have a flock of 20+ stellar jays. Out of that flock there in one bird that tends to chase the others away so he presumably will have the whole bunch of peanuts. In short he is greedy when the rest of the flock is perfectly willing to share with each other.

Unfortunately his greed is his downfall as he often ends up with none. As he is chasing one bird away others will swoop in and grab a peanut. Today he was chasing others away and when he turned to get a peanut they were all gone. Had he shared like the rest of the birds he would at least had 2-3 peanuts. I think there is a valid lesson in that observation for everyone.
