When I was on the SAC Elite Guard we had a member whose wife did this to him each time they had a quarrel. I remember seeing him bite into his sandwich and drag out the cellophane wrapped cheese. We all knew when things were not going well at home for him as this was a clear indicator.

A mechanic I used to work with in AZ years ago was bad about going to the bar after work and staying late. One day he bit into his sandwich and started spitting it out. Inside sandwich was beer can tabs and cigarette butts and a note to the effect if he wanted to hang out at the bar this was his meal😆😆
