When we first moved to our retirement home in S. Colorado a physician friend (also retired) told us about a unique place called Mission Wolf that was towards Westcliffe and about an hours drive away. He took us over and it had only been around for a few years but it was a wolf refuge that kept wolves safe and provided room to move about freely.
I learned a ton about wolves and their behavior and the more I learned the more impressed I was with wolves. We returned several times and also introduced others to the wolf refuge. What I learned about wolves from the curator of Mission Wolf deeply impressed me with their intelligence and some of the things learned helped me also understand domestic dogs as well. Their web site is https://missionwolf.org
