When you see dogs on the loose this time of year during deer hunting season those dogs may be dogs used for hunting that have strayed from their owner who was using them to hunt. OR they may be stolen as I have witnessed several times in the past where low life bottom dwelling people will steal dogs and use them to chase deer during dear hunting season. When it is hunting season they steal dogs to chase deer where they will wait and ambush them when the dogs chase the the deer to them. When they are done they just drive away with their illegal deer and leave the dogs to fend for themselves.
I rescued a dog once off an island in the St. John's River in Florida where I was fishing. The poor dog was so emaciated I could count its ribs and pelvis outline. Another time four dogs were found running loose and fortunately those were reunited with their owner. They were stolen right out of his front fenced in yard and were in pretty bad shape when found. I have heard of other incidents as well all far too often.Keep your dogs close during deer hunting season and make sure they are safe from bottom dwelling low life scum that would use them and then discard them to fend for themselves. Yes there are people like this in the world and they need to be dealt with and punished. Also, be sure to have your dogs chipped so if they are found that there is a chance they might be returned to you.
